Known for years as Pine Meadow, the Town of Windsor Locks was incorporated in 1854. It is located halfway between Hartford, CT and Springfield, MA and is easily accessible via Interstate 91. With a population of approximately 12,500 it is a small suburban town rich in history and the home of Bradley International Airport, the "Gateway to New England".

History:
Situated on the Connecticut River, the town is named after a set of canal locks. These were opened in 1829 and formed part of the Enfield Falls Canal that circumvented nearby shallows on the river.
Windsor Locks is the site of Bradley International Airport, which houses the New England Air Museum. One-third of the town's area consists of the airport.
